Trying out iclickers

email print

If you've never used iclickers, please contact us to schedule a consultation. We will help you determine whether iclickers would serve your pedagogic goals and show you how this technology works.

If you would like to familiarize yourself with iclickers before deciding whether to make them an integral part of your course, we will be glad to lend you a trial kit. Please use the trial kit request form to apply for a loan.

Trial kit loans

Our iclicker trial kits consist of:

  • An iclicker base station (receiver), unless your classroom is already equipped with such a device (we can find out for you).
  • A "master clicker" (a.k.a. an "instructor's clicker"), which will allow you to start and stop polling remotely.
  • A USB stick (a.k.a. a "thumb drive") containing the iClicker and iGrader applications for both PCs and Macs.
  • A number of iclicker remotes corresponding to the number of students in your class, provided we have enough in stock.

All trial kit loans are subject to the following conditions:

  • Due to our limited inventory, trial kits are usually loaned for up to a month only. We will, however, consider a limited number of requests for term-long loans on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Although our trial loans are free of charge, you must provide a FAST account number, which you should obtain from your department. This account will only be charged if any part of the kit is lost or damaged (in which case the amount charged will correspond to the current retail value of the components in question).
  • Each instructor is entitled to a single trial loan. If you decide to adopt iclickers, please visit the page on adopting iClickers.
  • Your email address will be added to the iclicker-l distribution list, which is used to broadcast important iclicker-related information.
